Demon Classes
Here are the five basic classes of demons and how they tend to operate. Consider it a little sneak peek at the Hell on Earth world.
Pain Demons:
These cause cause physical harm to their victims. They rule the various torture catacombs of hell and excel at putting the humans through the sorts of physical torture they earned through their misdeeds. Pain Demons sport small horns and typical dark and eyes, but other than that they appear human.
Psyche Demons:
Not ones to be messed with Psyche Demons toy with the mind causing hallucinations, fear, sorrow, paranoia, and rage until their victims lose all touch of reality or lose control of themselves. These demons tend to attach themselves to a family unit to disrupt and can appear to be a long history of inherited mental illness so often go unnoticed as they terrorize.
Elemental Demons:
These creature use the basic elements of fire, air earth and water to cause harm. They tend to leave a foul odor as a sign of their presence (sulfur-fire, decay,-air, mold-water, feces-earth). Physical appearances can vary but are usually closely tied to the element the demon uses to wreak havoc.
Bureaucratic Demons:
Bureaucratic Demons thrive on red tape and oversight. They tend to hold behind the scenes positions of power or use technicalities to make others suffer. Often these demons are found working in technical support or places like the DMV. Long twisted horns and a lack of any sense of humor make them stand out among demonkind.
Humor Demons:
Trickster these are maliciously playful demons and are equal opportunity tormentors putting their fellow demons through as much suffering as they do humans. They specialize in the kinds of jokes and pranks that lead to emergency room visits or grudges held for lifetimes. Since they can change their appearance as the need arises they don't have a standard "look", but do tend to be shorter in stature than the average grown human standing about five feet tall.
