Fairy God-Hunk (novella WIP)
Imagine your life is nothing but one big round of bad luck. Now imagine you discover the reason that absolutely nothing works out for you is because the Fey that was assigned to watch over you, and help with twisting reality just enough to keep you from getting the short end of the stick every single time, is actually running a sugar coated crime syndicate. Too busy up to no good, your fairy god-mother is the dead beat fairy parent type and you've been doing the best you could all on your own. This is Mel's life until a big sexy stranger saves her from a tumble in a bar one night only to have her falling in new and unexpected ways.
Leo is an ocean Fey and an Enforcer. He doesn't play in the realm of humans like the lesser Fey who keep the luck flowing for the poor, weak, magic-less people. If they didn't have luck the humans would surely perish and that makes them beneath his notice right until the Council decides otherwise. His mentor knows that Leo is the best of the best and probably the only Fey capable of stopping a group of rogue Fey from siphoning luck from humans to sell for the sugar they're hooked on. To do his job he'll have to not only travel to the human realm, but also fix the unbalanced luck of a mortal, a mortal who seems to have her own magic twinkling in her eyes and an ability to make him forget how fragile her kind are.
*This story began ages ago as a request from a close friend who felt her love life had nothing but the worst luck. She asked me to write her a happy ending and so I started this with the idea, maybe her fairy godmother hasn't been working to get her her prince. That idea of a slacker FGM turned into this story.
P.S. This friend is now quite happily married, so no tears she got her HEA way before I was able to deliver!
