Gods and Goddesses
This page will be going up a little more as time moves on, right now we're saving places as we get everyone's loyalties figured out.
Zeus
Without him we would never have found ourselves in this mess. He should be the leader the gods turns to, but instead he prefers to spend his time driving his wife crazy and drinking to excess. Not the best role model.
Hera
The queen of Olympus she enjoys power, especially over her husband who has a habit of running off with mortal women. Hera is the jealous type with a vain streak whose biggest weakness may just be her own narcissism, a little flattery goes a long way with her.
Hermes (ah one of my favorite troublemakers!)
Our messenger god just wants to live his life happily mingling with the mortals and having a good time. A troublemaker who would do anything for a friend and isn't afraid to go to some dark places to help someone out. He has a soft spot for humans and a dubious moral compass.
Hades:
Ruler of the Underworld, desperately wants out of the darkness and the respect that comes with ruling over Olympus. Trapped in a marriage of misery he hopes to free himself and Persephone from when on the throne. A god who enjoys luxury and the finer things the world and his massive wealth can offer.
Atlas:
A titan sentenced to hold the columns that kept the heavens aloft Atlas has finally found freedom. Determined to enjoy the new world he find himself in he is a fun loving if quiet fellow who comes across as a very large teddy bear. A major sweet tooth and the bad influence that is his Hermes contribute to his favorite thing being the daiquiri. Not one to tempt fate he likes thing calm and laid back.
Persephone:
Wife to Hades, spends half the year stuck in the underworld with her lying deceitful husband who shares her lack of enthusiasm with the arrangement. Her favorite pastime may just be driving her husband insane through irritation.
Ares:
Greek god of war and bitter abandoned child of Zeus and Hera. Ares wants the throne and is more than willing to fight his way to his father's seat of power. He loves a good battle and prefers his conflicts of the bloody fist to face variety.
Eris:
Ares' sister and mother to Strife she is the goddess of discord and joins her brother in most battles to help slake her never ending blood lust even if only temporarily.
Strife:
Son of Eris and nephew of Ares he enjoys causing conflict and wants power. A young god he needs to find a way to make a name for himself and sees the fight for Zeus' throne as a perfect opportunity.
Demeter:
Mother to Persephone spends half the year mourning the loss of her daughter's freedom over a stupid pomegranate and trying to figure out how to break the bond Persephone is trapped in with Hades. A kind goddess, but not afraid to use someone if it would free her beloved daughter.
Aphrodite
Goddess of love and another Olympian tired of mingling with the same immortals day in and day out. She has a heart of gold and doesn't hold grudges, but does her best to see everyone gets their heart's desire.
Hestia
Hestia is a demure woman, sister to Zeus she has kept herself from being a part of the everyday squabbles of Olympus. Sensing the change of power she takes advantage of the situation to get away from the hearth of Zeus' temple to explore the mortal realm with the help of Hermes. Shy and quiet she is more than she appears.
Apollo
Golden haired sun god and lover of women Apollo is a hulking personal trainer adrift in a world of women who use him for his physique and leave him the next morning without a care. A womanizer of old he knows when he gets attached to a mortal woman the fates will step in and she'll be the one to pay the price. Knowing the risk doesn't make him any less lonely.
Artemis (aka Artie)
Our huntress is the silver counterpart to her golden haired brother. She has an attitude and a stubborn streak a mile wide. As a hunter she runs her prey to ground and doesn't give up. Not interested in the drama of Olympus Artie enjoys the time she spends in her forest with the creatures that live there. She may hunt, but understands the importance of balance and shows respect for her prey.
Dionysus:
Making his first appearance in 'Bunny Slippers of Doom' we find Dionysus is more than a god of frivolity. He is a caring and loyal friend who would do anything for the goddess nearest and dearest to him, his best friend Demeter. Soft spoken when sober he is another god altogether when the wine starts flowing!
Hekate:
The goddess of witchcraft our magical drama queen lives deep in the recesses of the underworld. She loves to cause trouble and play games and has the ways, if not always the means, to get things done. A loving woman she helped to care for Persephone when she first came to the underworld as a captive of Hades. Hekate and Demeter are best friends and both ensure the goddess of spring stays safe in their respective realms.
Iapetus:
Father to Atlas, Iapetus is the Titan all others fear. Known by his own people as the 'Mad Dog' he earned the title by killing his father with the aid of his brothers. In the ages since the infamous patricide his unstable demeanor has left little doubt of his violent nature. None in the realms of the underworld or Olympus dare to call upon him for fear of the results.
Kronos:
The original Father Time and brother to Iapetus, Kronos is one of four siblings to band together and brutally murder their father Uranus. Wielder of one of the few weapons capable of killing a god he is not one to be trifled with...or trusted. Always in search of a way back on top after his fall to Tartarus with the rest of the Titans, Kronos is a schemer.
Mnemosyne:
We have another Titan. Mnemosyne is the sister of Iapetus and Kronos and the Titan goddess of memory. Able to sift through time and space to pluck any information from the past as memory she is also the mother of the muses and a goddess of creativity. An indulgent and loving mother Mnemosyne is a stalwart ally and loyal friend as well, but she can be a bit of a meddler and troublemaker if she chooses and tends to snoop when she gets curious.
